The Osprey Volt 60 exemplifies the adage, “less is more.” This elegant pack is simple, durable, and highly adjustable to comfortably accommodate various torso sizes.

Dual side compression straps provide load stability and the LightWire™ peripheral frame transfers the weight to your hips where a Fit-On-the Fly™ hipbelt easily adjusts up to three inches for a custom fit. In addition, the torso length has five inches of adjustment making this pack a shape-shifter capable of quickly adapting to many torso sizes.

The backpanel is made of mesh for ventilation and comfort during periods of high exertion—i.e. when you’re trudging up a south-facing slope carrying an overnight pack in the hot sun. Two mesh side pockets and a front mesh stash pocket combine with dual zippered hipbelt pockets provide a plethora of on-the-go storage options.

To expedite packing, the sleeping bag compartment is separate from the main compartment and the external sleeping pad straps are removable when you’re going ultra-light. Stow-on-the-Go™ Trekking Pole attachments allow you to quickly secure poles when not in use.

Not a good fit for me

I've used this on several backpacking trips from 2 to 5 days carrying 30 to 50 lb. At 5'9" tall and 145 lb, I have a slender body size. While not a grossly uncomfortable pack, even with the torso adjustment shortened as much as possible, the pack hung down on my butt. It felt like the hip belt was just too large for my slim body and couldn't hold up the pack properly. This pack is probably a better choice for someone with a larger torso. I am going to replace this with the small version of the Atmos 65.

Great Pack!

It's really a great pack! Super comfortable and fits a good amount of things. I love all of the different compartments

My first good pack and it's PERFECT!

I am a bit over weight still (but dropping weight fast!) so the adjustable waist strap fits me perfectly. I have had back surgery and am 65 years old. I recently hiked the Maryland Section of the Appalachian Trail. $ days and 3 night for 40+ miles. I had no back pain or ANY discomfort from this pack, carrying about 28 lbs fully packed. I love this pack.

Versatile, tough, simple - highly coveted by other travelers

I use this both for week-long backpacking trips in the US and for international travel (Latin America). It's taken a lot of abuse over the last year but remains as good a new. It still rides quite comfortable despite the lack of fancy padding. It's also fairly understated which is perfect fo not calling too much attention to yourself as an international traveler. My only issue is that its bit of a struggle stuffing my sleeping bag into the tight bottom compartment.
