Reviews

Wow'd by Osprey

Just got this pack in from Osprey, haven't used it in the field yet but from what I can tell it's light, comfortable and well thought-out. Although the pack seems awesome, this review is more about Osprey's excellent customer service and warranty. I had an old Osprey pack that had a hipbelt that was always just a little too big for me. Knowing these hipbelts were interchangeable, I went to several outdoor supply stores to get a smaller one. No dice, the pack was too old and the hipbelt was no longer stocked. Advised by one of the managers at the store, I contacted Osprey about my hipbelt and asked if they had a replacement for it. I got a response immediately, they didn't have a hipbelt, so instead they offered to replace my pack! I've never been so impressed by customer service. Helpful, speedy, and left me a very satisfied customer. Honestly, if you have doubts about which backpack brand to choose, go with Osprey. I've never experienced such awesome customer treatment from any other outdoor brand. By the way, I'm not affiliated with Osprey in any way, just a super stoked and loyal customer.

This Pack Is TOOO GOOOOOOD!

I've never backpacked for the sake of backpacking. Whenever I hike into the wilderness for a few days, it is to climb big rocks far from roads and trail heads. How is this relevant? Heavy, heavy loads - full of metal and rope on top of all the other backpacking goodies. This cavernous pack is the only pack I've owned that is both comfortable and has the carrying capacity to load all equipment for a week in the woods. It's a lightweight, durable material. It is minimalist in design - things you need and nothing you don't. It's ABSURDLY comfortable. I really like the nalgene pocket and the massive hip-belt pocket. I also really like that those are the only pockets. This is my third Osprey backpacking pack and it is by far the most impressive. This pack is expensive but totally worth paying MSRP and I would recommend you get this pack if you are into climbing in the Wind Rivers, Sawtooths or the Sierras. I could have purchased other packs from the North Face or Black Diamond with a big discount but decided to spend the extra $$ on quality - very glad I did. I am excited to use this pack on yurt trips this coming winter. I have no affiliation with Osprey, I'm just a stoked human. Looking forward to humping many more loads with this pack in the weeks, months, years to come. Considering selling my BD Speed 50 (read:complete garbage) for the Osprey Mutant 52... >:D
