SUSPENSION
After years of thoughtful patterning, clever compression, vertical support and stiffer suspension, we added a Lightwire spring steel peripheral frame and an Airscape® ventilated backpanel, resulting in the best quality carry ever offered.
LOAD CAPACITY
To ensure the best possible fit and load transfer, we have continually shifted the shape and design of the harness and hipbelt. The stable close-to-body carry on our new design is ideal for managing heavier loads when the trail gets technical.
CUSTOM FIT
Founder Mike Pfotenhauer and team rose to the challenge of eliminating the interchangeable harness and hipbelt. Our new Custom Fit-on-the-Fly® design does away with complexity while offering a truly fine-tuned fit.

AETHER | ARIEL PLUS
Blazing the trail for those in search of a customizable, perfect-fitting pack, the Aether|Ariel Plus is ideal for a week on the trail, a gear-intensive weekend or a big adventure. Offering a stable carry that can manage the heaviest of loads. Dial in the perfect fit with a Custom Fit-on-the-Fly Hipelt and Shoulder Strap and detach the top lid to use as a daypack for side trips. Constructed with high quality bluesign®-approved high-tenacity nylon and PFC-free DWR.
AETHER | ARIEL
Whether it's an extended excursion into the backcountry or a weekend full of creature comforts, the Aether|Ariel is built to carry the heaviest of loads. Offering a fine-tuned fit for a variety of body shapes and sizes with a Custom Fit-on-the-Fly Hipbelt, Shoulder Straps and adjustable torso length. AETHER | ARIEL PRO
Osprey's stripped down, streamlined and svelte Aether/Ariel Pro is made for type-two adventures that span days or months; alpine climbing expeditions with remote basecamps, or boundary-pushing thru-hikes through unknown landscapes where the only trail is the one you make. With upgraded fabrics and hardware, this pack provides worry-free dependability for people pushing the boundaries.
AETHER | ARIEL EXTENDED FIT (EF)
Our EF pack collection provides larger sizing to core packs, offering people in bigger bodies the same uncompromised performance Osprey is known for with a more inclusive fit. An extended hipbelt fits up to 70-inch hips while repositioned pockets and longer shoulder and sternum straps complete the package. Aether and Ariel 65 are available in with Extended Fit, delivering heavy-duty carry capacity in a fully-featured package.
