Some girls like purses, I'm a backpack addict. I picked up this pack for commuting/work. The dedicated laptop compartment with space for files is great and lets me shove my climbing gear into the main compartment for post work decompression. On a recent trip home to WA, I didn't bring a pack for day backcountry touring - just my 70L pack for a multiday tour. I emptied out my Nebula and found the very front pocket fit my avy gear, the main compartment swallowed my extra layers, water, and food. 2 problems: 1) the back has no real frame support so the pack deforms rapidly with soft goods and 2) the water bottle pockets could not handle being dragged around in the snow a bit which I found to be absurd. No heavy abuse and there was nothing in the pockets, they just snagged on the snow and tore. I have had issues with the pack not holding its shape day to day as well, but found it particularly annoying while skiing. The pack can do it, but if it is to be billed as a 24/7 pack, a more supportive back panel would be great. Overall, I'm happy with the pack and use it every day for work. In a pinch, it works for the trail too.
