The Osprey Volt 75 is designed for those who don’t want any bells and whistles, just a simple rucksack large enough for a week on the trail and built for the long haul.

Dual side compression straps provide load stability and the LightWire™ peripheral frame transfers the weight to your hips where a Fit-On-the Fly™ hipbelt easily adjusts up to three inches for a custom fit. In addition, the torso length has five inches of adjustability making this pack a shape-shifter capable of quickly adapting to many torso sizes.

The backpanel is made of mesh for ventilation and comfort during periods of high exertion—i.e. when you’re trudging up a south-facing slope carrying an overnight pack in the hot sun. Two mesh side pockets and a front mesh stash pocket combine with dual zippered hipbelt pockets provide a plethora of on-the-go storage options.

To expedite packing, the sleeping bag compartment is separate from the main compartment and the external sleeping pad straps are removable when you’re going ultra-light. Stow-on-the-Go™ Trekking Pole attachments allow you to quickly secure poles when not in use.

Great buy , all around Backpack

Not to many "bells and whistles" for me just the right amount. I researched Backpacks for a long time for multi day use and large enough for Bear canister . For the money , quality , and overall versatility this is a great pack. I have been Backpacking for over 45 years and have seen the Evolution of packs, I'm very Happy with the Volt 75. If you don't need the size the Volt 60 is the same just smaller.

Good pack, unless you're a woman

I received this pack when I went backpacking abroad. It is overall a good pack, but if you are a woman looking for a cheap option do not buy this. The organization I went backpacking with provided this pack to all people regardless of gender and size. I am a woman with curvy hips and the pack gave me cuts and bruises. If you are a guy, this pack would be great! All my guy friends enjoyed theirs!

Pretty alright for a bigger bag

Grabbed this bag to accomodate longer backpacking trips with son, so I can carry a bit more of the gear. it's very similar to the kestrel 48 I normally tote, but the shoulder straps aren't as nice, nor are the loops on the shoulder straps (mora hangs differently). I also found it really had to be worn higher up on the hips than I was expecting. once seated properly tho, it was comfortable, held the load against my back very well, and I'm glad I grabbed this bag. it's not as comfortable as some of the other ospreys, but it's pretty alright. Wish it had come with an integrated rain cover like the others, but there's a reason it's cheaper than other bags

Ideal Pack for Extended Hikes

I recently finished a 3 day/2 night hike to Havasupai with my family, and this pack was perfect for what I needed it for. Since my wife was responsible for hiking with our one year old in the child carrier, she had limited space in her backpack. The storage is amazing! I was able to pack all of my gear as well as most of hers using the Volt 75 pack. There are multiple storage compartments which is very helpful. The pack is very easy to adjust to whatever you feel is most comfortable. Having dedicated straps for my trekking poles was a huge convenience. Overall I really love this pack.

Great pack a few issues

I bought the Osprey Volt 75 pack in preparation for an 11 day hike at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The pack was used for all training hikes and trek 18 at Philmont. The pack met the majority of my needs. I was able to pack all of my personal gear and crew gear in the pack with no trouble. The pack fit me well and I have only two complaints. (1) It was difficult for me to access the water bottles from the side exterior pockets while hiking. (2)The Etro Clip that connects the shoulder straps over the chest separated from the straps. Customer service was great they sent me a new strap and I was successful in reattaching before I went on the trip. However, when I was in the field the strap separated again and I could not reattach it. This time the clip spit when I tried to reattach. Overall I recommend their product but believe they should re-evaluate the product and address these issues. I have contacted Osprey customer service and will update this post on the current status of replacement or repair of the Etro Clip.

Took tht place of my go to pack

Bought it, use it, love.Bought this a few seasons back and it replaced th GoLite pack I was using, which I loved. Recently retired, and this pack will be getting all the use this summer if the snow in the Sierra ever melts. LOL

I broke this pack in on a 3-day trek along the Ouachita Trail in Eastern Oklahoma. It held 4 days worth of dehydrated meals, a Kelty TN2, clothes to sleep in, a 50 degree bag, camp stove, trauma/first aid kit, 3L of water in a Camelbak, 2 Nalgenes, a rain jacket and GSI pot with plenty of room to spare in the main compartment. Lashing points carried more gear on the exterior of the pack. The pockets in the lid section carried small items as well with lots of room and easy access. I was a little worried about the mesh pockets holding the bottles but they held tight and secure. This pack made the uphill climbs noticeably easier than they were with my old pack (one more suited for the Military/LE world). The only thing I had trouble with was my water reservoir not sitting all the way into the pocket. It rode high but not uncomfortably. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Comfortable, Versatile, Big

I was so impressed with my daughter's Viva 65 that I decided to get this pack for myself. She's put a lot of miles on her Viva and my Volt has only been on one trip, but I wanted to post this review to note this pack can hold a Bear Vault 500 lengthwise inside the sleeping bag compartment. It's tight - essentially no space to spare - but it holds it securely and comfortably down there, leaving the whole rest of this massive pack available for your gear. With our Bear Vault fully loaded on the first day of our trip, I had this pack a little over 40 lbs and it was comfortable. It's primarily a cavernous main compartment, but it has lots of adjustment straps to control the load, and plenty of pockets and attachment points to accommodate a much heavier and/or bulkier load than I had. So far, the Volt 75 appears to be as solid as my daughter's Viva 65.

I would buy this product again.

I had done a 25 mile hike with the wrong equipment and paid the price. Decided to purchase this pack and have had it on several short trips and it is a night and day difference. Feels amazing.

Save your money and buy this pack. Very comfortable!

I got this when I realized I'm going to need something bigger and comfortable to carry everything needed when I'm going to a long-distance hiking at the long times. The adjustment range, light weight, and tons of space make it a great choice for anyone who is looking for a do-all pack. Comfortably carries heavy loads and has an overall weight that puts it near 'ultralight.' Even though it may weigh a few more ounces than some other ultralights, the versatility of this pack makes it a best buy for anyone. I can't understand why no one else has reviewed this pack. This is a fantastic, very light weight pack that fits comfortably and can carry up to 50 lbs with ease (not that I recommend that much weight). Honestly, for IDR 1.900.000,- this pack was awesome.
