Quantocks, Somerset
With trails ranging from beginner to intermediate this is a great option. It offers plenty of climbing so be prepared for a workout but don’t worry you’ll find plenty of DH as well as the extended single track, wilderness XC.
Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
The Forest of Dean centre, sitting on the border of Wales, features some of the best mountain bike trails in the UK. With comfortable, wide-track forest routes, meandering XC and some challenging DH there is something for everyone. It also happens to be one of the surviving ancient woodlands left in the UK. A truly beautiful location for a ride out.
Stob Bàn, Scotland
This route is named after the 999m mountain it is situated on and around. With towering mountainous vistas and views of the Lochs towards the east, this is by far one of the most beautiful locations on this list. Prepare for some big carry sections before hitting the long DH flow. Be sure to research the multiple approaches and descents for the most enjoyable day.
Hadleigh Park, Essex
If you’re looking for something unique then Hadleigh Park trail centre is a good option. It was host to the 2012 Olympics and has retained the courses for the public to use. Now split into blue, red and black grades this is a great XC focused location that is easily accessible and offers excellent additional facilities.
Rim Dinger Trail, Bike Park Wales, Wales
One of the advanced trails at arguably one of the best centres in the UK. This makes the best mountain bike trails in the UK blog purely because of the challenge and reward it provides. This rocky trail will require some technical jumps and commitment to hitting those required speeds.
