Love It!

This reservoir is much easier to fill than my old CamelBaks with the twist off lid (that always seem really hard to get off) and doesn't taste so plasticy, even after several uses.

I bought a "day bag", pretty sure Osprey classifies it as a bicycle pack, that included this Hydraulics LT reservoir. I use this bag to do short day trips with my dogs, since I need to carry water for the three of us and a very small collection of gear. The 2.5 litres has always been way more than sufficient for our needs, even in the heat of summer. Last year I was hit by a car while running with my dogs. It was a VERY MINOR ACCIDENT; the car was coming to a stop and my dogs avoided the car completely. I bounced off of the hood and kind of rolled onto my back. Considering that I rolled around on my back for a bit to assess the pain in my legs before getting up, I am ridiculously impressed that the Hydraulics bladder only has a tiny hole at the corner of the plastic carrying handle. The tiny little hole prevents me from filling the Hydraulics bladder more than about 2 litres (which is still sufficient for my needs) and because the bag is no longer airtight, I have to be very careful to dismantle all possible pieces often so that mould does not accumulate in the hose and bite valve. I have since replaced the bite valve due to this issue, and will probably replace the bladder soon since I plan on doing a longer hike once a week in good weather. Again, I was laying on top of this hydration bladder on the pavement for about a minute with the bladder about 3/4 full and all that happened was a tiny little hole near the plastic handle. You can't actually see the hole, you only see the water beading out of it when the bladder is full. A full year of use after the hole was made, it hasn't gotten any worse. Not bad at all :)

Quick connect DISCONNECT

I have the Osprey Ariel 60L backpack, and have LOVED it on adventures in South America, California, and Europe. When I read about an Osprey daypack that got great reviews, I jumped on it - and this reservoir came included. After a few uses this season, though, I can now say that I'm consistently having problems with the hose coming disconnected. This is a big problem when I take the reservoir on a multipitch rock climb - I wouldn't want to drop the hose down a cliff. This seems like a basic functional problem that the company should address.

Suspension hook broke, twice.

I love the quick connect and the new seal, makes filling and loading very easy. However the hook on top to suspend it in your bag broke on me after the first use. I had it replaced no questions asked, but then it broke on me again. I've heard they've updated their design to increase its strength, but I have yet to see it.

Don't know what the bad reviews are about

Have used this 4 times now on extended backpacking trips and havent had any problems. High quality product. Havent experienced any of the problems other reviewers had, i dont know why. Didn't read the reviews on this product before I purchased, and now I'm glad because I probably would have gone with a different product.

Difficult to open

this bladder is the most difficult to fill & empty then I have ever had. Stiff & awkward to open, not easy to drain the hose. I am very disappointed. Do NOT purchase this

Good but not close to worth the price I payed

So I bought a osprey backpack that came with this water pouch. At first everything worked great! No leaking or leaking of the hose. Then after about a month of use the top part of the bag that clips in broke. Then the quick release connect for the hose CONSTANTLY comes apart, not even duct tape held it together. It's gotten to the point where almost every 5 minutes I have to stop and re adjust it. I payed a lot for my backpack which is a good product but this bladder was clearly made cheaply. Would NOT recommend buying it.

Not the Best Product Ever

I received a replacement Hydraulics Reservoir from one that came with a pack I purchased a couple years ago. The moment I took the new reservoir out of the box I thought to myself, "What the heck is this?" I've loved everything that I have ever used from Osprey until I gave this new Hydraulics LT Reservoir a try. It feels chintzy, but with all new things you have to give them a try before making an assumption. The reservoir is floppy and there is no support when sliding it into either of my packs. It feels like the material can tear easily, and I have no idea how long the plastic hanger will last. I've been thinking of taping the sides so it doesn't move while I'm active. I also have trouble opening the bite value without using two hands. The new design will be great for cleaning the inside, but that's about it. After one use I don't trust this product.

Updated hanging clip

5

So many bad reviews and no response from Osprey. Strange. I see many bad reviews about the hanging clip breaking. They must have redesigned it since then. There is no clip now just a hole for the webbing to go through. This should be unbreakable now. So far I have not used this reservoir outside the house. I have filled it a few times to reduce the plastic taste. It seems to be pretty well made. It doesn't leak.
