Osprey’s Syncro 3 is a minimalist’s dream. It has just enough space to fit sustenance, a few layers, and your car keys.

Even when you’re riding at speed in rough terrain, this featherweight pack carries well thanks to Osprey’s AirSpeed™ suspension system. The mesh backpanel is supported by a LightWire™ frame for a cool, comfortable fit. The BioStretch™ shoulder harness works in conjunction with the built-in hipbelt wings to stabilize the load.

Front panel access to the main compartment gives you a complete view of all your gear and eliminates digging in the bottom of your pack. A small front organizer pocket and a front mesh shove-it pocket give you storage options.

An internal reservoir sleeve holds a 2.5 liter Hydraulics™ reservoir with magnetic bite valve retention. This translates to easy refills and constant sipping.

Additional details include the LidLock™ carry system to hold your helmet when it’s not on your noggin and a blinker light attachment for nighttime visibility.

Comfortable, great ventilation and no plastic taste!

I have 5 hydration packs and this is my go to pack for most rides. I forget I have it on. I hate a sweaty back from packs. This alleviates that problem. My back is so much cooler now. A Syncro 15 is my choice for longer rides. I have the Syncro 3 pictured with a full bladder and an Osprey padded organizer loaded with a rain jacket, co2 and a few tools. I run the lid lock through the organizer strap to secure it when riding. I recommend picking up a bite valve cover. Works great keeping out dirt. Pardon my dirty pack, it gets lots of use. Pros: light, no plastic taste, easy clean bladder, secure bladder closure, quick release hose, bite valve, shove pocket, zip pocket, trampoline back, cool on your back, lid lock, breathable straps, Osprey quality and warranty Cons: people may not consider it due to the price.

Nice pack needs some design tweaks

The Osprey Syncro is a nice pack. The hydration system is excellent. No leaking! There are a few things that I would change. The main pocket on the front is just big enough to hold a couple of bars and maybe a multi-tool but not big enough for bars, tool, tube and your phone. I would sacrifice .5L of water for a little more storage especially since 2L of water is more than adequate for most rides. I would also nix the waist belt. The belt is overkill when you already have shoulder straps and a chest strap to hold the pack in place. When you are hunched over a bike the belt is uncomfortable. At the very least it should be removable. I plan to cut the belt off of mine. The frame that keeps the pack off of your back is a very nice feature. I also like the magnet on the bite valve that keeps it on the chest strap for easy access.
