Description

Simpler is often better and if you prefer going light and moving fast in the woods, mountains and around town, the Talon™ 11 is the pack for you. 11L of capacity is perfect for day hikes, urban commutes or a quick trip to the market. Ventilated and comfortable, the BioStretch harness and continuous wrap hipbelt combine to create an incredibly stable carry system that hugs your body so you can stay balanced on the trail, ridge or your bike. We scratched our heads and updated our AirScape backpanel to use less material and glue while making it more breathable to keep you cool on hot days. When uphills turn technical, our Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole carry system keeps your hands free for upward movement. LidLock helmet carry achieves the same when you stop for a mid-commute coffee. Zippered hipbelts, side stretch mesh pockets, a harness pocket and backpanel bungee provide all the organization you need.

Perfect daypack

5

Have used this pack almost daily for 4 years now. Can hold a change of clothes and shoes when needed. Perfect sized pack when you need to carry and have available or doff a layer, in addition to safety and day's use capabilities. The pack's "narrowness" when fit means that I forget I've got it on, even after hours of wear. Hip belt pouches allow me to carry flashlight and snacks for times when I need either (or both). Tall side bottle holders keep even S'well (500ml) bottles in place securely (unless i need to run, in which case I loop an elastic "hair tie" through the relective loop at the top of the holder then loop the other end over the bottle. Now i can run and nothing shifts at all.) Just love the fit and usefulness of this pack as a daypack. it'd be poor even for an overnight pack, but single day use couldn't ask for anything better.

Fit and function are excellent

5

I bought this as a dedicated summertime day-hiking pack for one-day missions. I have to say, this is one of the best fitting packs I've ever owned. It feels like it's hugging me. I got the larger size (female, 5'9', long torso) and I'm so glad I did. The waist belt on many packs creeps up around my belly button, but this one stays put right over my hips. It's not huge, but it keeps me focused in my packing, which is a good thing anyway. I'm really glad I got it and it makes my hikes more enjoyable to have a nicer pack with good pockets and excellent function. I expect I'll enjoy it for many years and miles. Thanks Osprey!

Hipbelt is too short, just requested an "extension"

3

Bought the Talon 11 as a small day pack for cycling. I have the Osprey 26 which I love, but wanted something smaller for day trips. Great pack, right size, I have a 38" waist and can barely close the hipwaist cinch, just sent a letter to support requesting some kind of extension that I can add between the closurers. Guess we will see.

Comfortable day pack

4

I use this bag as my day pack when I'm hiking. It's lightweight and small. You need to think through what you're going to take in it as it doesn't have a lot of room but is big enough for my 11 inch laptop, my purse and passport, my lunch, water, and an extra jumper. Recently took it as my bag on a flight and did find it a little finicky and probably too small for a long haul flight (28 hours) but I don't usually pack light!! On the return I took an extra bag for anything that didn't fit in it which probably isn't ideal. Still, I love how light it is, particularly with my computer in it and use it as a day bag for short hiking trips. It hasn't aged since I bought it about 12 months ago.

Update Needs Re-Thinking

3

Pack holds all necessities plus for day hikes. Cons listed above. As w/older version, Osprey needs to replace cinch buckle-load lifter straps with snap closures (like on waist belt). As they are now, it makes it very difficult to open hydraulic area wide enough to insert reservoir. Also would like to see bungee front replaced w/stuff pouch. And inside-outside compression straps not necessary on such a small pack. Having said all that, I still like the pack w/personal hack adjustments I made myself.
