Shyanne is Diné (Navajo) from Northern Arizona. Growing up, she never saw Native people like her highlighted in the outdoor industry. Today, as a hiker, explorer and rafting guide, she hopes to inspire other Native people to assume leadership roles in the outdoors.

One of her proudest accomplishments is guiding on the mightiest river that runs through one of the world’s seven wonders: the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Through the blistering heat and brutal winds, she found her resilience and strength. She has led river trips ever since and is so happy she stuck with it.
