Why not capitalize on the opportunity and start forecasting some shared adventures in the year ahead? Set aside time to dream up some goals and trips you can all enjoy, and commit to seeing them through in 2024. Maybe mom wants to hike 365 miles, or your sibling wants to summit 12 fourteeners or dad wants to get back into mountain biking in the new year. Set your own goals and plans too—it’s the perfect opportunity to drop some hints for last-minute gift giving.

3. Gift Sustainably

Speaking of gifting, why not give your someone special a something special that has a lower impact on the environment too? Choosing a sustainable gift helps ensure your giving is better for the planet, so both you and your recipient can feel good. Look for products with third-party certifications, like bluesign®, to know that the sustainability claims are more than just marketing. Opt for gifts that are made from recycled materials and seek out promises like our All Mighty Guarantee™ that repair or responsibly replace, instead of letting worn down gear go to waste.

4. Reflect on the Year you Had

It’s fun to look ahead at the end of the year, but the year behind you was full of memorable experiences and worthwhile achievements too. Celebrate by organizing a show-and-tell party with friends or family and ask everyone to prepare a short but sweet presentation to show off their highlights and inspire one another along the way. Make it a tradition each year and everyone will have a reason to document their expeditions, explorations and forays into the outdoors for more than just Instagram. It’s way more meaningful and wholesome than just scrolling each other’s social feeds, and you may get some great ideas along the way.

5. Give Outdoors

As you spend time outdoors, make future plans and enjoy your year-end reflections, why not give back to the great organizations that help us preserve, access and restore our natural spaces? Look up your local trail management organizations or find national non-profits(S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre) that dedicate themselves to protecting the places we hold near and dear, throughout the year. It’s a meaningful way to keep the good times, and memories, rolling.
