We require our material suppliers to use credible third-party standards, such as the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) or Recycled Content Standard (RCS), ensuring third-party verification of our high-quality, durable recycled content.
The bluesign SYSTEM provides us with tools for the promotion, adoption and implementation of safe chemicals usage and responsible practices throughout our supply chain, focused on resources, people and the environment.
When we consider our environmental impact, it's necessary to include packaging. We use 100% recycled and recyclable polybags [LDPE 4]*. We are also using either recycled or Forest Stewardship Council [FSC]-certified cartons and hangtags, and have added the How2Recycle label to our packaging so consumers are guided to recycle our packaging correctly.
Recycling diverts material away from the waste stream by keeping it out of landfills and oceans, and reduces emissions from incinerators. Sourcing recycled materials reduces CO2 emissions from the manufacturing of plastic resins by at least 60% when compared with virgin counterparts, as indicated by the U.S. EPA* It lowers dependence on petroleum as a source for raw materials and reduces the impacts of exploration, extraction and refining.
