HighRoad™ Chassis
HighRoad™ Chassis
The chassis is the rigid frame around which our wheeled packs are constructed. Usually built from tough ABS plastic or lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium, the chassis is designed to protect the bottom of the pack, allow the wheels to run smoothly and retain the pack's structure.
ErgoPull™
ErgoPull™
An Osprey innovation which improves the comfort and ease of adjusting the hipbelt to the right size for the wearer. ErgoPull™ is a method of running the webbing forwards through the side buckles, allowing the user to pull the straps forward to tighten them. This is easier on the muscles and allows a more fine-tuned fit when compared with the conventional method.
Fit-on-the-Fly™
Fit-on-the-Fly™
Fit-on-the-Fly™ is an innovative adjustable padding system built into the hipbelt of some larger Osprey packs. The pad is designed to be customisable and adjustable to fit the wearer, by extending or retracting into a space inside the fixed hipbelt.
FlapJacket™
FlapJacket™
The FlapJacket™ is a feature on many Osprey backpacking packs or other packs with a removable lid. The purpose of the FlapJacket™ is to provide a lightweight, low-profile cover over the top of the pack for when the lid has been removed, your kit must remain protected.
InsideOut™ Compression
InsideOut™ Compression
InsideOut™ Compression is a method of routing the side-compression webbing inside the side pockets. This allows the user to customise the pack to their preference, whether they prefer easier access into the side pockets, or need easier adjustment of the compression straps.
Integrated Raincover
Integrated Raincover
Osprey's integrated raincovers come as standard in many Osprey packs. They are built to be a snug fit for the size of the pack when fully loaded, and enable the user to wear the pack with confidence that the contents will stay dry during rain-showers. The integrated raincovers are usually high-visibility and feature reflective graphics for easier identification on the trail or around town.
Kickstand
Kickstand
Kickstand is a feature which enables the pack to stand up by itself, without the need of a support. It prevents the user from needing to lean the pack against their legs or any surface when trying to find something inside the pack, or when re-packing the bag. Kickstand is especially useful in everyday and commute type packs.
LidLock™
LidLock™
LidLock™ is an Osprey feature designed to hold your bike helmet onto the outside of your backpack, enabling you to keep your hands free. The plastic lid-lock is passed through the holes in the helmet, allowing the elastic bungee cords to hold it in place.
StraightJacket™ Compression
StraightJacket™ Compression
StraightJacket™ Compression is a technology which allows your pack to compress the contents very tight, or remove a lot of dead-space from the inside of a half-full pack. It involves extending the front compression around the side of the pack, perfect for when you're not carrying much in a larger pack, or when you need to put your pack away for storage until your next adventure.
Stow-on-the-Go™
Stow-On-The-Go™
Stow-on-the-Go™ is a feature which enables the user to place their walking poles out of the way without stopping, perfect for when you need to cross a stile or adjust your equipment. It's designed for fast and easy use, and can be used with any type of walking pole.
ToolLock™
ToolLock™
ToolLock™ is a feature on our climbing packs, which involves the use of a lightweight, sturdy aluminium bar which is designed to pass through the head-hole on a modern walking or climbing axe. It enables a quick, secure method of storing climbing tools and is easy to use with gloves.
ToolWrap™
ToolWrap™
ToolWrap™ is a small pouch on the lower section of some Osprey biking packs. It's designed to hold essential biking tools and spares, while providing a small surface to work on when your bike has a mechanical issue on the go.
